Nestled between the traditional village of Gastouri and the picturesque coastal resort of Benitses, Villa Claire is a spacious and beautifully designed family home with a story as charming as its surroundings. Named after the owner’s beloved grandmother, who gifted him the land on which the villa now stands, this exceptional property was lovingly designed and built by her grandson, Manthos, and has since been the setting for many happy family memories.

The ground floor, set across several split levels, features a welcoming entrance hall leading to a bright, comfortable living room with a large corner sofa, fireplace, and wall-mounted TV. The adjoining open-plan kitchen is modern and fully equipped, complete with a breakfast table for six. A large family bathroom with a corner bath completes this level.

A few steps up, the mezzanine level offers direct access to the patio and houses a second dining area with an extendable table for up to ten guests, a mini bar, and the first double bedroom with a queen-size bed and a full en-suite bathroom.

On the first floor, reached by two independent spiral staircases, there are two additional bedrooms. The master suite features a queen-size bed, en-suite shower room, and a balcony with stunning views over the countryside. The second bedroom, furnished with twin beds that can convert to a king-size, also has its own balcony overlooking the valley.

For larger groups, guest accommodation located in the garden offers sleeping space for up to three additional guests.

Beautiful Gardens & Outdoor Living

The villa’s immaculately maintained gardens are a true highlight, filled with Mediterranean greenery and fragrant blooms. At the heart of the grounds is a new private swimming pool (4.00m × 7.50m, 1.5m deep) surrounded by sun loungers and large parasols—perfect for lazy afternoons in the sun. A covered BBQ area with a large outdoor dining table provides the ideal spot for al fresco meals in the shade.

Set in a peaceful rural area surrounded by olive groves and countryside, Villa Claire offers tranquillity and privacy while being close to everything you need. The seaside resort of Benitses is just a five-minute drive away, offering a wonderful selection of traditional tavernas, international restaurants, and relaxed café bars. For a taste of authentic village life, Gastouri—with its maze of narrow streets, timeless charm, and the famous Hectorus Bakery, still operating after more than a century—is only a few hundred metres down the hill.

Due to the number of steps the main property is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties, the guest studio on one level and suitable as there are no steps.

Gastouri village lies 10km south of Corfu Town making it the ideal location to enjoy the vast sandy beaches of the south, the UNESCO historical town of Corfu and the Achilleion Palace & gardens, once the home to Princess Sissi & Kaiser Wilhelm and where James Bond ‘For your Eyes only’ was filmed. This traditional Corfiot village has 3 tavernas, some tourist shops selling traditional olive wood ornaments etc, a couple of cafe bars & a mini-market for the very basics. It’s a sleepy village where the bread is still baked the traditional way and old ladies with Donkeys wander the streets carrying fresh produce on their heads. Gastouri was also awarded Greece best village. The area surrounding the village is well tendered and the location of many upmarket properties. This beautiful area is the perfect choice for those looking for a central location with easy access to the majority of Corfu Island with Benitses with it’s wonderful selection of restaurants just a five minute drive down from the centre of the village.
