Barbati Beach
Is this area suitable for me?
Beach – Pebble
Restaurants & Bars – Yes plenty along the beach and the high street
Boat Hire – Yes with Spiros Boat Hire
Supermarkets – A handful of mini-markets
‘Highlights’ – Trendy beachfront chill-out bars & restaurants with beach service
The brilliant white sweeping pebble beach of Barbati is the gateway to the prestigious North East Coast of Corfu, affectionately known as Kensington-upon-Sea. This resort has a real holiday vibe about it with a it’s upmarket beach side restaurants and trendy beach bars. Bahia Mare & Piedra del Mar to name just two, play relaxing chill-out tunes and offer a superb beachfront atmosphere where you can pre-reserve your sunbed both during the day and during the balmy evenings. Both restaurants have a superb menu and during high season a table reservation is recommended. For the water sports enthusiasts Barbati also has a superb water-sports centre and we would high recommend renting one of the small boats from either of the boat hire companies along the beach. From Barbati you can meander your way up the picturesque coastline, anchoring up in one of the many deserted coves where the water is crystal turquoise and perfect for snorkelling.

David L, Sheffield UKDate of stay: September 2021 The villa was clean and the welcoming pack was a very nice touch. The pool was small and half of it was very shallow. The facilities were very good and the TV programmes and film choice were excellent. The barbecue was supplied with fuel which was a nice considerate touch. Overall the villa was very good with only 2 issues from our point of view. Although the villa is near the sea the hills are very steep and difficult to walk up. There seems to be a resident cat(s) and this gave me serious allergy problems. The cleaners were good in trying to alleviate the problem but it was still an issue.
Eliza, EnglandDate of stay: October 2020 The villa was really lovely. It was clean and spacious with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Location was peaceful and walking distance to tavernas where the locals were welcoming. Beautiful beaches nearby and plenty to choose from. A great villa with everything you need- including own pool!
Ella-Rose, EnglandDate of stay: September 2020 A wonderful villa with a glorious view of the ocean. The location is great, with just a short walk to all the restaurants and the beach. Barbati is one of the best places to stay in Corfu and the villa is so lovely. We had everything we needed and there were really sweet touches from the hosts. The hosts were great at communicating and were very generous. I really hope to visit again. Thank you for being such an amazing host. We booked the holiday last minute, having not expected we could go away this year. We thought that the villa was such great value for money. We loved the location of Barbati. The villa was perfect for our needs. Thank you for being so quick to respond and for making the whole process very easy. We really appreciate the late checkout - it meant we could really make the most of our last day. Thanks! I am sure I will come back soon.
David O, Manchester, UKDate of stay: August 2020 Villa and furnishings were somewhat tired. Gardens poorly maintained if at all. Had some issues with the pool but resolved with lightening speed by Prestige....can’t fault their service. Location was good but up 2 very steep but short hills...fine for me/us but won’t be for everyone
Wendy P, EnglandDate of stay: July/August 2020 In brief I would say that overall it was a really fantastic villa/ location and that your service was excellent… … a few additional comments would include more written info about the practical things of the villa … eg. What to do with rubbish, how to work the TV etc. Plus it would have been good to know just how steep the driveway is and that caution is needed arriving for the first time in the dark… we got stuck halfway up when we arrived and the car started slipping… so we had to reverse back and walk up to check out where the villa was and then just the driver went up in the car. Another time even in the daytime the car got stuck when we tried to go up with four of us! We had an absolutely lovely holiday though and it was just what we needed and absolutely would recommend your company and this villa.
Lizzy A, UKDate of stay: August 2019 The Prestige Villa staff were brilliant before and during our stay and were always quick to respond to any queries. The Villa was beautiful and extremely clean and well equipped, with fantastic views. It is spread over 3 floors, with the 2 main bedrooms opening out on the ground level to the pool. All 3 bedrooms were a good size with lots of storage. On the top level, there is a large roof terrace but as there was no seating up there, we didn't really use it, but the views are wonderful from up there. The pool was lovely and warm and just right for our family of 4. We stayed around the villa quite a bit, as the walk to and from the main street and beach was very hard work. The road up to the Villa itself is almost vertical and in the heat in August, it was too much effort. You can then get down to the main road by a short cut which takes about 10 minutes, but this is also very steep and quite challenging! Along the main road, there are a few souvenir/beach type shops, some restaurants and although there are some supermarkets, these are only really good for essentials. If you walk down further still (again very steep) you can get to the beach which is lovely and long but because it is very narrow, it gets very busy and unless you get there early, the sunbeds will have all been taken. There are a couple of nice restaurants at each end of the beach and also 2 boat rental places. We hired a boat one day and popped along to the Nicolas Taverna in Agni Bay which was great. All in all, we did have a lovely holiday and cannot fault the Villa, but we were a little disappointed by Barbati and the climb to and from the Villa.
Gillian M, Glasgow, ScotlandDate of stay: June/July 2019 Emerald Bay villa in Barbati was just perfect for our week away with the family. The villa itself was the most well equipped villa We have stayed in. The villa was spotlessly clean and the pool was a godsend during the long hot days. The villa offers the most wonderful views over Barbati and beyond- very special, and a great excuse for a photo opportunity to send back home! Emerald Bay is the first attached villa that we’ve stayed in. In the past we’ve always rented detached villas, which initially was a tiny concern, however the villa is completely secluded as far as privacy goes and there was absolutely no feeling that you even had neighbours next door. The hill that leads up to the villa is a killer! The younger members of the fam found it easy enough to run up, but my husband and myself dreaded the climb, especially after a large meal and a couple of glasses of wine! That said, it was embraced each time and in a funny way, seemed to get easier as the week went on. Barbati is a place of steep hills, so our fitness levels certainly have improved! We chose not to hire a car as Emerald Bay is very central to the restaurants, beach and supermarkets , however we did take the Green bus to Kassiópi while we were there. The bus service is inexpensive if you don’t want to drive and frequent. Our holiday at Emerald Bay was a wonderful one. From the initial booking , to our holiday itself, was hassle free and without doubt the most relaxed villa holiday we’ve had. We can’t wait to come back!
