Katavolos House | Katavolos above Nissaki

A haven of tranquility and a world away from everyday life Katavolos House is one of Corfu’s hidden gems. Renovated in 2003 the villa maintains much of its original characteristics and is simplistic charm at its very best. Set in mature gardens the villa boasts a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by stone patios with mesmerising views. The house is located in the hillside enclave of Katavolos set above Nisaki on the north eastern corner of Corfu.Set 200m up, the house is reached via a steep and windy mountain road and is approximately a five minute drive from the main coastal road.

The sleeping quarters are spread over two separate wings on the first floor. The first wing, accessed internally via a flight of stairs from the dining area, comprises two bedrooms, a master, with four poster double bed and large bathroom with shower over bath. The second bedroom has two large twin beds that can be arranged as singles or a large double. This room has a small wet room style shower room. Both rooms have wonderful sea views.

The second wing is on the same floor as the first but is accessed externally from the terrace behind the house. Here there are two doubles and one twin room, that can also be made as a double should that be required. Again each room has its own bathroom, the large twin room with a separate shower and bath, the large double with a shower over bath. The smaller double to the rear with a wetroom shower room. The twin and one of the doubles both have views over the sea and garden.

Nissaki is one, if not, the most popular areas along the North East coast of Corfu for villa holidays. Nissaki spreads itself along a 3km stretch of stunning coastline, encompassing numerous bays and small mountain hamlets. The harbour is the focal point of the area, with a selection of traditional tavernas located around the pretty harbour and immaculate pebbly beach. Here you will find the clearest water, a haven for snorkelling. There are a good selection of restaurants here, Miltos Restaurant is the built on the edge of the rocky outcrop overlooking the sea and the beach. It’s the largest most popular taverna down in Nissaki where Agatha & Lakis and their family before them have been serving delicious home cooked food since 1955. ​
