Villa Claire | Gastouri

Villa Claire is situated between the traditional Greek village of Gastouri and the picturesque coastal resort of Benitses. The Villa is named after the owners Grandmother who gave her Grandson Manthos the plot of land some years ago for which he designed and built his dream home and in which his family have spent many happy years.

The villa is exceptionally spacious, stylishly furnished and has rather a quirky design with a modern twist. The ground floor is built on several levels and consists of a large entrance area, a comfortable sitting room with corner sofa, fireplace & wall mounted TV. Open-plan to the living area is a modern kitchen with breakfast table for 6, a 2nd dining area on a higher level, a twin bedroom and an enormous bathroom with corner bath.

Two further bedrooms can be found on the first floor, both of which are accessed by their own spiral staircase. There is a Master Bedroom with King-size bed, en-suite shower room and balcony with wonderful views. A second children’s bedroom with Twin Beds and a balcony with views over the valley.

There’s a guest accommodation located in the garden for the 7th & 8th guests (available at a supplement).

The gardens are absolutely stunning and are immaculately maintained. There is a fabulous built-in undercover BBQ with outside dining area and a new swimming pool (Size 3.85 x 7.30 and 1.5 deep)with 6 sun-loungers and very large parasols.

This house is perfect for a family holiday, it’s set in beautiful gardens, in a peaceful rural area surrounded by stunning countryside, but yet Benitses is only a 5 minute drive down the lane where you will find a great choice of traditional & International restaurants and cafe bars. If you prefer authentic tradition, picture postcard Gastouri with it’s maze of narrow streets which still maintains it’s Greek way of life is only a few hundred metres down the hill. Famous for it’s village bread which has been baked at Hectorus Bakery in the centre of the village for more than one hundred years. We are sure this villa is a popular choice and we guarantee you a perfect holiday.

Due to the number of steps this property is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties.

Gastouri village lies 10km south of Corfu Town making it the ideal location to enjoy the vast sandy beaches of the south, the UNESCO historical town of Corfu and the Achilleion Palace & gardens, once the home to Princess Sissi & Kaiser Wilhelm and where James Bond ‘For your Eyes only’ was filmed. This traditional Corfiot village has 3 tavernas, some tourist shops selling traditional olive wood ornaments etc, a couple of cafe bars & a mini-market for the very basics. It’s a sleepy village where the bread is still baked the traditional way and old ladies with Donkeys wander the streets carrying fresh produce on their heads. Gastouri was also awarded Greece best village. The area surrounding the village is well tendered and the location of many upmarket properties. This beautiful area is the perfect choice for those looking for a central location with easy access to the majority of Corfu Island with Benitses with it’s wonderful selection of restaurants just a five minute drive down from the centre of the village.
