David M, ParisDate of stay: October 2023 We had a wonderful ten days last Autumn in this large, beautiful house set amongst acres of olives trees. It's right on the coast, with steps down to a secluded beach where we could still swim in late October. And every evening, after a dip in the gorgeous swimming pool we'd sit on the terrace, a glass of local wine in hand, to watch the sunset with nothing but the sea between us and Italy. The house is large, modern and spotlessly clean, filled with light and tastefully decorated. Several large ensuite bedrooms with comfortable beds and super bathrooms, plus a large living and dining area giving onto the main terrace and pool. We were there at the end of the season, which can be a challenge in Corfu where the majority of the island closes up after mid-October. The great advantage of the location is that it's situated between two villages with many shops and tavernas, all open year round. Some nights we'd walk the two kilometres to eat wonderful local food in Pentati and other times we'd use our car to get to Agios Mattheos, five kilometres away. As well as great tavernas and cafes it has two well-stocked markets, plus bakeries and a fabulous butcher, so half of the time we'd take advantage of the superb kitchen and the barbeque to eat at the Villa. It's truly a magical place.
