Once a popular haunt for the Club 18-30s crowd in the 70s and early 80s and since they were relocated to the southern tip of the island, Benitses has now reverted to the traditional village it once was. The central square is often the location of many village festivals during the Summer with Greek dancing and lamb on the spit.
The new Yacht Marina has certainly enhanced the area and is a pleasant spot to have morning coffee whilst watching the comings and goings.
There are a great selection of good quality restaurants in the centre, many of which are highly rated on reviews. Two of our favourites is Oi Oraies situated along the pedestrianised road where Dimitri will take good care of you and serve you some of the best food cooked by his Wife and all beautifully presented. If you love fish & sea food then Klimataria overlooking the square is also fabulous.
Benitses village lies 14km south of Corfu Town making it the ideal location to enjoy the vast sandy beaches of the south, the UNESCO historical town of Corfu and the Achilleion Palace & gardens in Gastouri village. Once the home to Princess Sissi & Kaiser Wilhelm and where James Bond ‘For your Eyes only’ was filmed, the views from the gardens along the coastline are stunning.
Although the villas in nearby Gastouri are only a five minute drive away, we also feature properties lower down by the coast. Villa Larisa is around a 15 minute stroll down into the village and has a huge swimming pool set in immaculately tendered gardens. For those looking for utter luxury, the waterfront property Viva La Diva is the most prestigious property in our portfolio.
A little further south from Benitses is Ionian Gardens, one of three lovely properties with easy access the beach.
