Villa Claire – Between Gastouri & Benitses, Corfu
Nestled between the traditional Greek village of Gastouri and the charming coastal resort of Benitses, Villa Claire is a beautiful family home that blends creativity, comfort, and authentic Corfiot character. The villa takes its name from the owner’s grandmother, who gifted her grandson Manthos the plot of land on which he designed and built his dream home—a home that has been lovingly enjoyed by his family for many years.
Stylish Interiors with a Modern Twist
Exceptionally spacious and tastefully furnished, Villa Claire stands out for its unique, multi-level design that combines modern comfort with a touch of quirky charm.
The ground floor opens into a large entrance area leading to a bright, comfortable living room with a corner sofa, fireplace, and wall-mounted TV. Adjoining this is a modern, fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast table for six, plus a large bathroom featuring a corner bath.
A few steps up, the mezzanine level opens directly onto the patio and includes a second dining area with an extendable table for up to ten guests and a mini bar—ideal for entertaining. This level also offers the first double bedroom, complete with a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom.
On the first floor, reached via two separate spiral staircases, there are two more bedrooms: a master suite with a queen-size bed, en-suite shower room, and balcony with beautiful views, plus a twin bedroom (convertible to a king-size) with its own balcony overlooking the lush valley below.
Outdoor Living
The villa’s immaculately maintained gardens are a true highlight—filled with colour, charm, and privacy. A new swimming pool (4.00m x 7.50m, 1.5m deep) is surrounded by six sun loungers and large parasols, offering the perfect space for relaxation. There’s also a built-in, covered BBQ area with an outdoor dining table—ideal for enjoying long, leisurely meals in the shade.

Set in peaceful countryside surrounded by olive groves and rolling hills, Villa Claire offers total tranquillity while being just five minutes’ drive from the beachside resort of Benitses, where guests can enjoy a wide choice of traditional tavernas, international restaurants, and lively cafés. For those seeking authentic Greek charm, Gastouri—with its narrow streets, timeless atmosphere, and the famous Hectorus Bakery, which has been baking village bread for over a century—is just a few hundred metres away.

Due to the number of steps this property is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. Optionally the guest studio is on one level and easily accessible.

Long driveway with plenty of parking for vehicles. Brand new swimming pool surrounded extensive lawns. Beautiful well tendered gardens with Sun loungers and parasols. Outside Detached Built-in BBQ and dining area. The driveway is gated, the garden all fenced and secure.

‘Highlights’ – Traditional Corfiot Village, Achilleion Palace & easy access to Benitses & Corfu Town
Gastouri village lies 10km south of Corfu Town making it the ideal location to enjoy the vast sandy beaches of the south, the UNESCO historical town of Corfu and the Achilleion Palace & gardens, once the home to Princess Sissi & Kaiser Wilhelm and where James Bond ‘For your Eyes only’ was filmed. This traditional Corfiot village has 3 tavernas, some tourist shops selling traditional olive wood ornaments etc, a couple of cafe bars & a mini-market for the very basics. It’s a sleepy village where the bread is still baked the traditional way and old ladies with Donkeys wander the streets carrying fresh produce on their heads. Gastouri was also awarded Greece best village. The area surrounding the village is well tendered and the location of many upmarket properties. This beautiful area is the perfect choice for those looking for a central location with easy access to the majority of Corfu Island with Benitses with it’s wonderful selection of restaurants just a five minute drive down from the centre of the village.

Mike, UKDate of stay: June 2017 The Villa and garden and surroundings are stunning, when we pulled in to the driveway we were amazed at all the space! The garden is well kept and so is the pool. You can walk in to gastouri, it's about 15-20mins and you can walk to benitses which is maybe 25mins. Much easier to get a car although it is a lovely walk in the day, it's quite remote so it's not lit at night. We were a group of 6 and there was a sunbed each and enough toilets and showers. I think the drainage isn't the best in the remote areas and the toilets/ showers/ bathrooms had a pretty bad smell. Despite this I would definitely come back to villa Claire, the lovely cicada's in the evening were blissful and the bistro in Gastouri with its amazing owners were so welcoming and fun and the food is amazing! We did a couple of BBQs, there were no coals so we had to get more. Also no basics like salt and pepper and the wifi code was wrong but niki was on hand to call or pop down and bring us what we needed! Her and her husband were very attentive and helpful and always available. I would recommend villa Claire for its location too, it's out of the way but still close enough to a beach and town and a great location on the island to be able to drive easily to all areas and coastlines without spending too long in the car. Such a gorgeous place with very fond memories! Thankyou
Michael T, Stockbridge, UKDate of stay: August 2017 Villa Claire was a great choice for our family holiday, as a party of 6 (4 adults & 2 children) the accommodation was perfect with extensive gardens and a lovely pool. The villa is just outside Gastouri village away from everyone but still only 5 minutes by car to Benitses which is lovely family resort with many bars and restaurants to choose from overlooking the sea. The villa location is great for accessing other beaches on the Island, shingle nearby and 20 minutes to nearest sandy beach on the west coast,plus the airport and Corfu Town. . Prestige Villas were very helpful and efficient in terms of booking the villa and organising car hire and reception at the airport. The instructions to the villa were very clear, necessary in view of some of the local narrow roads. Our Response: Thank you so much for such a great review for Villa Claire. James M, UKDate of stay: July 2016 We had a lovely holiday staying at Villa Clare and we can thoroughly recommend it. It is very well cared for by the friendly owners and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. It has a nice pool with sun chairs and parasols and a very good outside kitchen where we enjoyed many evening BBQs. We would recommend a car staying here though, the villa is in a rural area and although a 2 minute drive down the lane brings you to the back of Benitses village where there are lots of lovely places to eat, it's a hike back on foot. Corfu as an island is amazing and this area is extremely nice, we like Benitses very much and people were very friendly. It's also so easy to get into Corfu Town which we loved too, lots of quaint streets and good shopping. Aqualand isn't far either, that was a day for the children. Will definitely look at returning to Corfu in the future and wouldn't hesitate in staying here.
